Heute hoer ich, dass Athen fuer die sicherung seiner sommerspiele dreimal mehr ausgibt als zuletzt Sydney. Sicherheit wird halt heut grosz geschrieben, heute, da jede europaeisch wohlgenaehrte huefte zum weichen ziel erklaert ist.

Wo ich aber eigentlich hinwill mit meiner vorrede ist folgendes: Leipzig quaelt sich doch in den letzten monaten so elend mit seiner/ihrer olympiabewerbung. Stasioberst hier, Mielkes wachregiment da. Warum nicht, liebes bewerbungsbuero, aus der not eine tugend machen? In Leipzig sind die spiele sicher, hier sind alle gut im ueberwachen!

No no, keep calm. this is just a brilliant diabolic scheme by ol' Rudi to lull the Oranjes to sleep and then, in 47 days, sweep them off the pitch even easier. Yeah, we are still the mean Krauts. ...if that scheme fails, we're going to take all the subsidies, we blow through the DFB chimney and support our robot soccer teams. Them and our most adorable 'footie'-ladies may defend our flag better and for less.

Two years ago I came by a little site offering loads of cajun music free of charge. I didn't bookmark them then. Two month later I tried to find them but didn't succeed. "Well I thought, the armies of copyright lawyers sued them off wire", but all wrong. They are still out there. Today I had a look, check the entry 'Schultze gets the blues', and yes there they are ...

http://npmusic.org/ ...those who are into cajun music might know this place. It offers loads of audio files. I know outthere, there are more sites offering music for free. But these guys are particularly nice. Hopefully they'll do a lot of good to their music and culture. I like to emphasize the following lines:

Thingammablog · 27.04.04

I have to admit that Thingammablog is a very well developed piece of software. It didn't leave me unsatisfied up to now. If one likes to run a weblog on a mobile device, that does not have regular web-access Thingammablog is a small, smart and (!)platform independent solution. well, maybe it should support sftp soon ;-)

Gestern musst ich christiansen gucken. Das immernoch immer gleiche geseier. Der einzige, der sich positiv hervortat, war Wolfgang Joop. ... Ja, richtig, Wolfgang Joop scheint sich hin und wieder den ein oder anderen gedanken zu machen. Wer haette das gedacht.

Herr Joop sollte mal die naechste eroeffnungsvorlesung an der wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen fakultaet der Humboldt Universitaet zu Berlin halten.

Movie Review: 'Schultze gets the blues' · 24.04.04

i've seen the movie 'Schultze gets the blues' (->english this way). i believe this one is really worth havin a look. you have some excellent camera work, cuttin edge acting, really cuttin edge acting, a very good story, a decent, slightly sinister sense of humor... and there's cajun music and cajun kitchen involved. i'm not going to tell the story or give hints here, except that i recommend it to everybody, not only to connaiseurs of the state of german society, but to all, because as sueddeutsche wrote (lucky me, i don't have to find the words anymore): it is an advocacy for life before death...

its way of telling a story is of course far away from common hollywood style, though it does not leave you exhaustet or pi#@ed-off. it is good fun

when it comes to your town, go watch it.

Umschüler von der Fernuni Hagen · 24.04.04

zu beginn dieses semesters wurde die eroeffnungsvorlesung der wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen fakultaet der humboldt universitaet zu berlin von Dipl. Kaufm. Olli Bierhoff gehalten. Abschlusz der 'Fernuni Hagen', was keine wertung sein soll.

Doch nun zur eigentlichen geschichte: eben gerade ging es um das ich-ag unwesen, was allenthalben die arbeitsmarktstatistiken schoent und die 'alteingesessenen' klein und kleinstunternehmen mit einem teils gefaehrlichen preisdruck ueberzieht. folgender ungefaehrer wortlaut war zu vernehmen: 'in vielen branchen ist doch kein euro mehr zu machen. die ganzen umschueler, mit null kosten durch die ich-ag foerderung, von der 'fernuni hagen' koennen dich doch immer unterbieten... (denkpause) ...unsere professoren koennen sich ja auch kaum noch in die eroeffnungsvorlesung konkurieren.

Ja einen kessen humor hat man sich bewahrt, in teilen der sonst so angepassten studentenschaft...

Update 22. Mai 2005: ich lese gerade, dass die band 'Berliner Weisse', anders als ihr name nahelegt, auf keinen fall der rechten ecke zuzuordnen ist. Eine dicke entschuldigung geht raus an die band. Dank fuer den hinweis geht raus an zauselgonzo.

hier ein etwas aelterer, 07/04/2004, aber niedlich...

eben geh ick die strasse lang. da haengt so'n konzert ankuendiger aus der rechten ecke. man kennt das ja: billig kopiert, bierselig dumpfdoedelige bandnamen wie 'zill**taler t@ rkenj@*#er','la#*ser' etc. aber diese band hiesz lustig. der name unterstreicht sowohl den latenten alkoholismus, als auch den latenten rassismus, dem die band anzuhaengen scheint: 'Berliner Weisse' Na dis zaubert mir doch ein politisch inkorrektes grinsen ins gesicht ... was dann auch sofort politisch korrekt wird, denn berlinerisch richtig hiesze die band: 'Berliner Weisse mit Schusz'

nachdem jetzt ja jeder umherbloggt, der was auf sich haelt, kann ich natuerlich nicht abeits stehen, in welcher sprache ich meine erguesze liefern werden ist noch nicht recht klar. klar ist jedoch, dass die rechtschreibung in beiden sprachen nicht zu ihrem recht kommen wird ... aber, egal, los gehts
