The picture above shows Prof. Steinar Strøm. He is economist at the University of Turin and the University of Oslo and on top of that he is one of the authors of a report on the market for prostitution services. According to the guardian describing the prostitution services market requires a whole lot of math knowledge.

“Strom is one of the few that involves partial differential equations. Sure, they could, if they wished, describe prostitution in words. But for scholars who want to explain prostitution, differential calculus may be the clearest language.”

I love this prejudices about mathematics, of course people like “us” can´t understand prostitution explainend verbally.
